Glyngøre was founded in 1940 by the Priess family as a canning works in the North Jutland fishing town of the same name, and has held a Danish Royal Warrant since 1963. It is the herring, mackerel, and tuna brand with the highest recognition on Danish lunch tables, its marinated and curried herrings a fixture of the smørrebrød tradition. After 25 years inside Orkla, the brand passed to Amanda Seafoods in 2020, which carries the recipes forward.
