Mabuti
Mabuti means good in Tagalog, and the mark was created for the Philippine export trade by Pinhais of Matosinhos, the 1920 cannery better known for Nuri. It survives in Filipino food memory: Ambeth Ocampo, writing in 2020, was told in Lisbon that Mabuti is now packed only in small runs for North America, and counted it among the twenty-odd brands Pinhais still fills alongside Nuri, Semper Idem and Comet. Like everything from that house it is packed by hand, each can wrapped individually.
