Ligo

Founded in 1954 when Gregory Tung Sr. established A. Tung Chingco Trading as the exclusive Philippine distributor of Ligo products from Liberty Gold Fruit Co. of California. The name Ligo is short for Liberty Gold. The company built its own cannery in 1980 to meet growing demand. Run by the third generation of the Tung family, Ligo is one of the most recognised sardines brands in the Philippines with factories in Zamboanga and Metro Manila. Acquired by Century Pacific Food Inc. (CNPF) in January 2022.
