Aomori-based seafood processing company and the producer behind Aomori Salmon, Japan's first ASC-certified farmed salmon. Through its subsidiary Japan Salmon Farm Co., Ltd., established in Fukaura, Aomori in 2017, Okamura Shokuhin farms salmon trout in the cold, mineral-rich waters of the Japan Sea coast fed by rivers from the Shirakami-Sanchi World Heritage site. The Imabetsu and Minmaya sea farms achieved Japan's first ASC salmon certification in 2019. Drawing on aquaculture expertise from a Danish subsidiary, the company operates a fully integrated production system from egg to harvest. Products are sold under the Aomori Salmon brand and distributed through major retail groups across Japan.
