Fukui Kanzume

Obama-based cannery in Fukui Prefecture producing the 鯖CAN (Saba Can) range of Wakasa mackerel. Located in Obama City, at the heart of Japan's historic mackerel trading route, the Saba Kaido. Uses Norwegian and domestic mackerel prepared in traditional Wakasa style, including miso, soy sauce, water, and grilled preparations. Products are sold at the Wakasa Obama roadside rest area, Wakasa Fisherman's Wharf, and other local outlets in Fukui Prefecture. Collaborated with Wakasa High School students on a canned mackerel product sent to the International Space Station with Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi.
