A Breton cannery founded in 1877 in Plozévet, Finistère, where sardines, tuna, and mackerel have been prepared by hand for over a century following traditional methods passed down through successive generations of workers. Acquired by the Intermarché group in 1988 and now part of Agromousquetaires, the production arm of the Les Mousquetaires retail group, the cannery remains physically in Brittany with 130 employees and sources the majority of its sardines from local Breton ports through the Scapêche fleet and independent bolinche fishermen. Label Rouge certification applies to the flagship sardine range, guaranteeing seasonal bolinche fishing, fresh fish preparation, cold-press olive oil, and a minimum four-month aging period before sale. Also holds MSC certification and the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant designation recognizing its traditional artisanal process. Produces the Capitaine Cook brand alongside the La Douarneniste and La Doëlanaise labels.
