Ito Shoku

Ito Shokuhin has been canning fish in Shimizu, Shizuoka, the port district famous for Japan's tuna and bonito fleets, since its establishment on 29 May 1948. The company built its modern identity around Aikochan, a canned tuna and mackerel line launched under a mascot character introduced in 2011 and positioned on minimal additives and quality raw material over the low-cost commodity end of Japan's canned fish market. Its plant sits in the Shimizu ward that has anchored Japan's tuna canning industry for a century.
