Peniche

A peninsula fishing port on Portugal's west-central coast, one of the country's most important landing harbours for sardines and other pelagics. The local fleet and the productive Atlantic shelf off Peniche have long supported fish processing. ESIP is the area's canning producer, packing sardines and mackerel. The port remains a major centre of the Portuguese sardine catch.
