Marypepa is new rather than old: Alejandro Canedo Liñares registered Batea Foods in January 2023 at Buño, in Malpica de Bergantiños on the Costa da Morte, well outside the Rías Baixas canning belt. The range runs to six references, mussels in escabeche and al ajillo, ventresca of yellowfin, sardinillas plain and spiced, and smoked mackerel, all ring-pull and pitched at the vermouth hour. The company is registered for trade rather than manufacture, and it does not say who cans for it.
