Luisa Paixão

Founded in Cascais in 2018 by a Portuguese woman returning home after more than twenty years in France, Luisa Paixão has never run a cannery of its own: it survives by finding other producers' conservas and putting them on a shelf. Its Tricana sardines come from Lisbon's Conserveira de Lisboa, in business since 1930, and sit next to olive oil, ceramics and filigree jewelry sourced the same way, one small workshop at a time. The business is the finding and the partnership, not the making.
