Inaba Foods traces its line to 1805, when the Inaba family were marine-products merchants at Yui on the Shizuoka coast, and it incorporated as a food company in 1948. It is one of Japan's largest canned-tuna houses, as known for its light tuna as for the curries it cans in Thailand. The tin is one arm of a very large modern food company.
