Hagoromo Foods, of Shizuoka, has canned fish since 1931 and owns Sea Chicken, the oil-packed tuna and skipjack brand so dominant in Japan that the name is shorthand for canned tuna there. It is the country's largest tinned-tuna house, canning its own fish alongside pouch, pasta and nori lines.
