Aomori

The northern tip of Honshu, between the Pacific and the Sea of Japan, with rich coastal fisheries and a tradition of preserving mackerel and other species. Okamura Shokuhin is the prefecture's canning producer. Aomori is also known for its Tsugaru miso, used in regional canned-mackerel recipes.
