A Baltic nation with a major fish-processing industry concentrated on its northern coast, in Pomerania around Gdansk and the Tricity ports. Poland is one of Europe's largest processors of herring, sprats, and mackerel, much of it for export. Graal, based in Pomerania, is among the country's largest fish canners; Lisner and Krakus are also significant names. Herring in oil and sauces, sprats, and mackerel define the Polish pack.
