Samut Sakhon

A coastal province on the Gulf of Thailand just southwest of Bangkok, centred on the port town of Mahachai, and the single greatest hub of canned tuna in the world. Its provincial motto declares it a city of fisheries and a district of factories. Thai Union, the world's largest seafood company and parent of brands from John West to Chicken of the Sea, is headquartered here, alongside dozens of canneries packing tuna, sardines, and mackerel sourced from the Indian and Pacific Oceans for export worldwide.
