Pescarias do Algarve

Founded in 1835, the Companhia de Pescarias do Algarve is the oldest fishing company still active in Portugal. It began with traditional tuna fishing in Algarve waters, eventually pioneering offshore aquaculture of mussels, oysters, and scallops in open sea. In 2014 the company acquired the Faropeixe cannery in Olhão, adding canned fish to a portfolio built over nearly two centuries at sea.
