Carpier Ahumados was created in 1995 by Carlos Piernas del Amor (Carlos Piernas del Amor S.L.) in the Maresme on the coast north of Barcelona, with its plant in Vallgorguina. It smokes salmon and cod over Maresme pine cones, sells the salmon in five cuts, and packs an ambient line of conservas including bacalao al pil pil and the five salmon cuts in tins.
