Founded in 2008 by a commercial airline pilot and an artist, José Gourmet began as a curation project, sourcing from Portugal's best remaining canneries and dressing them in Luis Mendonça's striking graphic work. When consolidation began closing those same canneries, they built their own: 100 Mistérios, the smallest cannery in Portugal, staffed by skilled workers displaced by the industrial closures. The same facility now produces Ati Manel, ABC+, and Maria Organic.
