Scandinavian Specialties is the last Scandinavian store in Seattle, trading in the Ballard neighbourhood since 1962, when it opened as the Norwegian Sausage Company.It is a full Nordic grocer rather than a tinned-fish specialist, covering Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, with a cafe and its own house-made pickled herring and fish cakes.Its shelves carry the Scandinavian tinned staples, Swedish sprats, Norwegian cod roe and herring, alongside the wider larder.
